Last night at Sony’s keynote at e3, they released some very stunning pieces of technology, and a new portable device they labeled the “vita”.
This new handheld has enhanced graphics, 2 touch screens (front and back), and fashions the design of the original PSP with duel analog stick. The front screen features a 5-inch OLED while the back is a basic touch pad. This device also features 2 camera to incorporate augmented reality (you mean, like AR GAMES on the 3DS?) This portable will be released with a starting price of $250 for the basic Wifi version, and $300 for the 3G + WiFi version. Now, I tell you the funny part (at least to me) about this device, the carrier. Sony announced that they chose AT&T to be the service provider for this device and trust me, the audience LOVED that decision! (sarcasm) The device currently has over 80 titles in development including ones from companies such as Capcom, Sega, EA, Ubisoft, and THQ. As of now, no release date has been announced.
Now, on to their other electronics they decided to announce! This 24-inch monitor (yes, monitor NOT TV) features 3D graphics. The package will also include a pair of 3D shutter image glasses, an HDMI cable to plug in to your console, and Residence 3 the game. Now, you may be wondering why this is so special, right? Well, I’ll tell you. This monitor features the ability to show two different images at the same time. Confused? I’ll explain. In other words, if you are playing multiplayer with 1 other person (who is also wearing a pair of glasses) you will both see a different screen. So there is no more need for screen splitting. This bundle with everything will be priced at $499 and no official release date has been specified.
